Reco-reco

The Reco-reco is a Latin-American percussion instrument consisting of an open-ended, hollow gourd with parallel notches cut in one side.

The Reco-reco plays a key role in the typical rhythms of many music genres (Salsa, for example), and not only in the Capoeira.

The Reco-reco is the last instrument that entered the Capoeira Bateria and also the last to start playing after the Berimbau, Pandeiro, Atabaque and the Agogo.
